The Richardson Theatre Centre ((RTC) has established “Texas Page to Texas Stage, A Lone Star Theatre Season of New Works.” A Lone Star Theatre Season will be held every four years, commencing in January, 2016. Seven selections will be made from submitted works and those selections will make up the 2016 Lone Star Theatre Season of the Richardson Theatre Centre.

ELIGIBILITY: Entry must be an original work by a Texas playwright, full length with a minimum run time of 75 minutes (including musicals, plays with music or plays for children) that has not been published or produced where admission was charged prior to RTC’s 2016 season. Staged readings/workshop productions are not disqualifying factors.

FEES: There is a $20 non-refundable submission fee for each script submitted. Checks or money orders should be made payable to “Richardson Theatre Centre” and mailed: 518 W. Arapaho Rd, SUITE 113 Richardson TX 75080.

ENTRIES ACCEPTED: Submissions will be accepted August 1 through September 1, 2015 (postmark).

SCRIPTS: May be submitted via US mail or electronically.
Mail: Submit a blind copy of your script, securely bound, typed in standard play format, with pages numbered. Include a list of characters/descriptions, scene breakdown, and a brief synopsis of your play. Your script(s) should be accompanied by a cover letter, including playwright contact information (address, phone #, e-mail address) and resume.

PLEASE NOTE: Entries that do not comply with guidelines will not be accepted. Submit via Media Mail. If you would like confirmation that we received your script, include a SASP (no envelopes). Scripts submitted electronically will be confirmed by email. Eliminated scripts will not be returned. Script evaluations will not be provided.

CONSENT: Playwrights give the Richardson Theatre Centre permission to photocopy scripts for reading/ production purposes. Selected playwrights must acknowledge the Richardson Theatre Centre if/when script is published. The selected playwrights award the Richardson Theatre Centre the option to produce the selected plays as part of its Lone Star season royalty free.

NOTIFICATION: Selectees will be posted on the Richardson Theatre Centre website (www.richardsontheatrecentre.net) in November 2015 and all entrants will receive an email presenting the RTC 2016 Season.
